Access & Mounting

Do you want the USPS to deliver directly to the mailboxes or do you want a private individual to distribute the mail (Cannot be both)?

Please indicate if you want your mailboxes to be recess mounted into the wall (17-inches of wall depth is required), or surface mounted on the wall. (Note: Surface mounted 4C mailboxes will require the purchase of both the mailbox modules and a surface mount collar for each module being ordered, which will add to your total order cost. Cost of the surface mount collars will be included in our price quote if the surface mounted option is chosen.)

Boxes

How many total usable tenant mailboxes would you like in your new mailbox configuration? (Note: Please remember to include any extra mailboxes needed for office, manager, homeowner associations, etc. Also please note that it is NOT USPS approved to incorporate any sort of mailbox compartments with slots for rent drop, etc. into a mailbox module being accessed by the USPS mail carrier. Rent Drops or similar types of receptacles must be totally separate from USPS delivery mailboxes.)

Please provide us with a little more detail on the size(s) of the tenant mailboxes that you are looking for. (Note: For standard residential types of mailbox applications, the “standard” mailbox size of 3 ¼” high is sufficient and recommended in most cases. For commercial mailbox applications larger tenant mailboxes are sometimes required due to a large volume of daily incoming mail. All mailbox compartments are 12 7/8” wide x 15 ½” deep.)

Custom Compartments

All 4C Mailbox modules have a built-in outgoing mail compartment, which is also the USPS master control compartment where the Mail Carrier accesses the inside of the unit. The standard outgoing mail compartment size is roughly 6 1/2” high in most modules, which is typically more than sufficient for most residential mailbox applications. For commercial, or business types of mailbox applications, sometimes larger outgoing mail compartments are required due to a large volume of daily outgoing U.S. Mail. If you require any oversized outgoing mail compartments please indicate here. If you do not require oversized outgoing compartments you may skip this step and leave the below fields blank:

The USPS 4C mailbox specification requires one Parcel Locker per every ten tenants. Exceptions to this requirement can be made with local Postmaster approval – typically if there is under 10 total tenants or if there is a management or rental office on site that will accept larger packages for the tenants. Please indicate below how many Parcel Lockers will be needed for your project. (Note: Parcel Lockers cannot be used as regular tenant mailboxes – see previous page if you require large oversized tenant mailbox compartments; or see above if you need oversized outgoing mail compartments):

Finally, please provide us with the total amount of wall space WIDTH (feet/inches) that you have available for mailboxes IN EACH of the wall sections as you have indicated above. (Note: Recess mounted mailboxes require a minimum of 17-inches of wall depth. Unless there are unusual physical height restrictions in any of the wall sections like a particularly low ceiling, etc., height is not normally an issue due to the standard USPS minimum and maximum height requirements. Please be as detailed and accurate as possible so that we may optimize the mailbox configuration for each wall section.):
