Apartment Mailboxes-USPS Approved at great prices!Apartment mailboxes are indoor mailboxes that come in several varieties, such as horizontal mailboxes, vertical mailboxes or 4C horizontal mailboxes. Our apartment mailboxes are USPS approved, and can be used for USPS delivery or private applications. Apartment mailboxes can have private locks put in, instead of the usual preparation for the postal locking device, also known as an "Arrow" lock. Horizontal and vertical collections boxe are typically used for commercial applications, such employee pay checks, payment drop or inter-office mail. Universities typically use horizontal units in their residence halls or administrative complexes. Optional locking devices such combination locks, thumb latches and a variety of others are available. Please feel free to contact our customer service center for your private applications, we will be happy to help. Apartment mailboxes are basic verbiage for mail collection boxes often used in these types of complexes. These receptacles are described in our marketplace in a variety ways, such as horizontal mailboxes, verticals, indoor mailboxes, locking or commercial mailboxes, and the newest USPS approved indoor mailboxes - 4C horizontal mailboxes. Each of our mailboxes has their advantages and disadvantages depending on their commercial use. The mailboxes that are the most economically priced are what we call vertical mailboxes. These mailboxes are manufactured in modules containing between three and seven mailboxes. Like most horizontal receptacles, these locking collection boxes are loaded from the front by the mailman. For commercial uses, specifically smaller multi-family complexes, these are the least costly mailboxes. This option is easily the most economically priced type of unit, but it lacks the options contained in both horizontal mailbox styles. Mailboxes for big multi-family complexes most often use front loading horizontals. Customers who require horizontal mailboxes quite often need often require a unit that can be altered. This is a big strength that the 4B+ horizontal mailboxes have over a vertical mailbox. These types of applications often require parcel lockers, outgoing mail compartments, larger mailboxes and many times even unique locking devices for added security. Apartment mailboxes are manufactured in array of finishes to help meet the decor standards of the end user. These units are available in aluminum, gold, bronze, or black powder coat finishes. Aluminum finish is the most economically priced finish. Gold, bronze, and black are manufactured for an added charge if your commercial building requires these finishes. We will be delighted to provide you with color samples to help you in your color options. Apartment mailboxes will be altered to help the U.S. Postal Service deliver mail more economically. It is recommended that your local postal officials be provided the opportunity to review your mailbox configuration prior to ordering, to make sure that it meets local mail delivery requirements. The older style 4B+ horizontal mailboxes and vertical mailboxes will continue to be around even after the new USPS STD-4C postal regulations go into effect. 4C horizontal mailboxes are the newest standard for apartment mailboxes. Our new Foursite 4C horizontal mailboxes, (apartment mailboxes or post office boxes), are a new style of horizontal mailbox manufactured strictly to new USPS STD-4C specifications. Our new 4C horizontal mailboxes are called the "Foursite" series. All mailbox projects for new construction and major renovations where the building permit was applied for after October 5, 2005 require U.S. Postal Service STD-4C compliant mailbox systems. The new USPS 4C Standard includes many new specifications, such as a compartment minimum size requirement of 12" wide x 15" deep x 3" high; elimination of the vertical mailbox design (5" wide x 6" deep x 15" high); introduces parcel locker requirements based on 1:10 parcel locker to tenant ratio; strengthens security requirements for the entire receptacle; standardizes and improves tenant compartment lock design; adds testing requirements to verify acceptability for either indoor or outdoor use; 4C horizontal mailboxes meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. The lower security, older style of horizontal mailboxes and vertical mailboxes will be phased out over the next few years, so it is important that you discuss this with your local postal officials to ensure that you are ordering a mailbox configuration that will work for both you and the USPS. |
